Quetzalli is a cellular biology student at UC Davis whose growing love for bees has opened the door to a much deeper exploration of the living world. A nature enthusiast and philosopher at heart, she has a particular appreciation for the small and often overlooked things that make life possible—soil, fungi, insects, bacteria, and the intricate relationships that connect them all.
Her curiosity extends beyond science. Quetzalli spent time studying with the monks in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh in the mountains of Southern California, an experience that left a lasting impression on the way she sees the world. Through mindfulness, she has developed an appreciation for slowing down, paying attention, and being fully present with whatever is in front of her.
She brings this perspective into everything she does, growing food, tending bees, observing nature, and learning to work with living systems rather than simply trying to control them.
For Quetzalli, the details are not small. They are where the wonder is. A handful of soil, a bee at work, a microscopic organism—all are part of the extraordinary web of life we are fortunate to inhabit.
